The work of couples psychotherapy has a practical and scientific approach. We work with validated treatments and always with the idea of being able to put them into practice between sessions to better understand the other, the problems we face and how to create a relationship with long-term well-being and coherence with the couple's life goals.
From what approach do the therapists work?
We always work from scientifically validated approaches, adjusting the tools and theories to both the needs and the personality characteristics of the client. The therapy methods we use are: Couple-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Couple-Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Imago Therapy, and Couples Therapy from the Gottman Method.
What will the first sessions at MindPlace be like?
The first session will last 60 minutes, in which there will be a joint evaluation of the problem to be treated, the areas for improvement, the history of the relationship, the communication styles, the sexual and emotional life of the couple and their objectives. get. After this session, each member of the relationship will be asked to complete an assessment individually that will be sent to the therapist before the second session. The second session will last 45 minutes with each member of the relationship, with the aim of completing the evaluation individually.
What will the course of therapy be like?
It is important to understand that there will be no secrets or information not shared between the therapist and one of the members of the relationship. All parties must share the same information and work as a team. Throughout the therapy, problems will be analyzed and tools and skills will be worked on to achieve greater well-being and happiness in the relationship. The therapist will give the couple exercises and resources to put into practice in their daily lives outside of the sessions.
How long does the treatment usually last?
